Solve x2 - 3x = -8. x equals quantity of 3 plus or minus I square root of 29 all over 2 x equals quantity of 3 plus or minus I square root of 23 all over 2 x equals quantity of negative 3 plus or minus I square root of 29 all over 2 x equals quantity of negative 3 plus or minus I square root of 23 all over 2

I knowth not this subject you should figure this out on your own with someone that can help
@pooja195
First you'd have to make the original problem equal zero. And then use the quadratic formula. \[\frac{ -b + or -\sqrt{b ^{2}-4ac} }{ 2a}\]
Do you get how to do those?
yes i get how to do it but i get confused when i get to the end of the equation
So youd have 3 + or - sqrt[-3^2 - 4(1)(8)] all over 2. Which simplifies to 3 + or - sqrt(9-32) all over 2. 3 + or - sqrt-23 over 2 right? the i would come out so the 23 wouldn't be negative
So you'd have the second choice. Does that make sense?
yes can u help me with some more?
Sure!
