SO what are you given... 30 miles in 5 hours. Then what does it want you to find?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rate :30 unit rate :1 mph

OpenStudy (danjs):

What is the question, or what does it ask you to find?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rate fill in :30 unit rate fill in :1 fill in mph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30 miles in 5 hours

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont get it whst number should i divide by

OpenStudy (danjs):

alright, they even give you the formula Distance = Rate x Time (Lets use D, R, t, for each of those) D = R x t Solve that for R, Rate first, by dividing both sides by t.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6

OpenStudy (danjs):

Dang, sorry i keep getting disconnected

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it k

OpenStudy (danjs):

Distance = Rate x time D = R x t dividing both sides by t gives you the expression for distance\[Rate ~R = \frac{ Distance~D }{ time~t }\] per time

OpenStudy (danjs):

the rate of 30 miles per 5 hours, is the same as ??? miles per 1 hour.

OpenStudy (danjs):

you said 6 above, that is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WHAT COULD U DRAW IT

OpenStudy (danjs):

sure., it is a line through the origin.
