\[\large \sqrt{50y^{12}}\] is this what it looks like? What are you supposed to do? Simplify?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
\[2y^6\sqrt{25}\] This is what we need to do first :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes simplify
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
wait.....no it is \[5y^6 \sqrt{2}\] sorry lol

So when you have the \(\sqrt{y^{12}}\), you normally just divide it by 2 and move it to the outside of the sqrt because it cancels them out. Does that make sense?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
okay then you split the sqrt into \(\sqrt {25}~and~\sqrt {2}\) and since \(\sqrt {25}\) square roots easily, we have it as \(5y^6\sqrt {2}\)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
thank i understand it better
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
:)
