Use right triangle ABC. The figure is for reference only and is not drawn to scale. If AC = 8 cm and CB = 6 cm, what is the length of segment AB?
@pooja195
Do you know where to start?
or i should say do you know the formula (a^2 + b^2 = c^2)
no, idea.
Have you heard of Pythagorean theorm
nope, being homeschooled you don't know anything or learn anything.
:( ok well i'll do my best :) In mathematics, the Pythagorean theorem, also known as Pythagoras's theorem, is a relation in Euclidean geometry among the three sides of a right triangle. It states that the square of the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides.-google Do you understand this?
yes.
ok so i want you ti try to do the problem and ill help along the way so i gave you the formula now u have to plug in numbers
AB^2 = 6^2 + 8^2 AB^2 = 100 AB = 10
Do you get the work i showed?
Yes, sorry my internet is messing up! :( it's being very slow took me like 20 times to refresh the page.
So first do I do the AB^2 = 6^2 + 8^2?
yes :)
i have a feeling its wrong
@pooja195
I guessed it, I choose 10. @pooja195
im sorry for the late reply 10 is correct :)
it's okay, i found it like this. 6 + 2 = 8 + 2 = 10. So I was like i'm gonna go for it, I had a time limit so I had to guess all of them I got a 4/5 So for guessing I did pretty good.
