John has $21. On John’s trip to Busch Gardens he wants to go on a ride, but admission tickets costs $10 and he bought a snack for $2 How many rides will he be able to go on. Write and solve an inequality to model how many rides John can go on.

someone please help

I will give medals to whoever answers correctly

OpenStudy (mrnood):

It says he HAS $21 It says he 'Bought ' a snack the implication is the he has $21 AFTER buying the snack. It I my guess however that the question means how many rides can he go on with the mony he has left AFTER buying the snack. Another sloppy question construction - can only cause confusion

OpenStudy (mrnood):

if he HAS $21 and rides cost $10 then I guess you can work out how many he can go on if he HAD $21, spent $2 then he HAS $19 - then I guess you can work out how many he can go on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I HAVE TO WRITE AND SOLVE AN INEQUALITY

OpenStudy (mrnood):

Yes - I see that - but do you know from the question whether he HAS $21, or whether he HAD $21

OpenStudy (mrnood):

number of rides he can go on is <= to integer (amount he HAS)/10
