WHY IS EVERYONE TAGGING PEOPLE AND GETTING HELP BUT ME?!?!1 SOMEONE HELP MEE!!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

try tagging people

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

What do you need help with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i tagged you 10,0000 times dont even start talking.. @texaschic101

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

hyperbole^

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

rekt @texaschic101 XD lol jk

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

you are not the only one I help on this sight...besides, I am here now..whats up

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What transformation has changed the parent function f(x) = log5 x to its new appearance shown in the graph below? logarithmic graph passing through point negative 1, negative 2. f(x + 2) + 2 f(x + 2) − 2 f(x + 2) + 5 f(x − 2) − 5

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

sorry...I do not know this

OpenStudy (perl):

since the log function passes through (-1,-2) that means you must have moved it left

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what do i do next?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@perl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its either B or D? @perl

OpenStudy (perl):

so lets graph log x of base 5

OpenStudy (perl):

and see how it changes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay how would i do that?

OpenStudy (perl):

you can use a table and pick nice values , or you can graph it on a graphing calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@perl

OpenStudy (perl):

we know that the log base 5 of x passes through the point (1,0) so how does the point (1,0) get transformed here to get to point (-1, -2 )

OpenStudy (perl):

(1,0) - > ( 1 - 2 , 0 - 2) so the x value is 2 to the left, the y value is down 2 units therefore we have f( x + 2) - 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yaaayyyy got it right!! thankss! @perl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

another one plz Which logarithmic graph can be used to approximate the value of y in the equation 3y = 8? The graph of function f of x equals log base 4 of x minus 4 The graph of function f of x equals log base 3 of x The graph of function f of x equals log base 4 of x The graph of function f of x equals log base 4 of x plus 3 @perl

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

Only one question per thread please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay sorry

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Do you mean \(3^y=8\)

OpenStudy (mathmate):

or \(3^y=x\)
