OpenStudy (anonymous):

The ratio of the sides of two similar triangles is 3:4. If the area of the larger triangle is 64 sq.in., what is the number of square inches in the area of the smaller triangle?

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

(x/64)=(3/4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it not different for area than it is for perimeter?

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

I would do cross multiplication for this (but I may be wrong)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thank you

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

so my answer would be 48 which is smaller than 64 which is good since we are looking for the sq.in in the smaller triangle
