An indefinite pronoun does not refer to any specific person, thing or amount. It is vague and "not definite".
a thing or event that existed before or logically precedes another.
Well, here's my line of reasoning, the chicken eggs aren't weak, the baby chicks are. So, I'd say that the antecedent is implied and that it really does need to be in there....
