OpenStudy (clalgee):

I'm sorry that it is long. An individual's needs for nutrients and energy change over the life span. A person's food choices also varies across the life span because social, psychological, economic, and leisure roles change during that time period. Often during pregnancy, infancy, and adolescence is when the body needs nutrients the most. At a certain point when the growth period stops, energy needs and the need for certain nutrients declines the body, needing to change the individual's habits. A great example of social and psychological time periods is teenage years. During teenage years, opinions of peers and their body image concerns them, becoming more important. This stage is also called the adolescent growth spurt." One of the changes taking place during adolescence is the varying hormonal levels in the body. These hormones are responsible for the changes seen in the physical development of the body meaning that at this time period in their life, any nutrients are not being declined. Adults choose wisely on what they eat. They more likely to be influenced by their health needs being restricted to certain nutrients. I hope this quick description helped in any way possible. If not, I hope you find these facts helpful to you in your individual lifestyle. :)
