PLEASE HELP FOR MEDAL + FAN!!! What is the slope of a line perpendicular to the line with equation y = 5x – 2? (Points : 1) -1/5 5 –2 –5

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

the slope is 5 the line perpendicular to this will have the opposite reciprocal slope of 5

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

so if the slope was 2 the perpendicular line's slope would be -1/2

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

what would the opposite reciprocal of 5 be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1/5? idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@acxbox22

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

yes, that is right! opposite means its additive inverse and reciprocal means the number multiplied by the number so it gives a result of 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks you @acxbox22 :D

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

np ;)
