A recipe that makes 9 servings calls for 2 1/4 cups of juice. How many cups of juice are there per serving?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so do you have any prior knowledge?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh no

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Well, 2 1/4 = 2.25 So that means there was 2.25 cups for 9 servings, correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you maker 2 1/4 into a improper fraction?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont get it

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Yes, that means there is 2.25 cups of juice in the whole 9 servings. Anyways, we have to split up 2.25 into each serving, so we take 2.25 and divide it by 9, like so 2.25/9, and that is your answer =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its not i have the answer but i just dont want to get it wrong
