during the first five days, a hiker on the appalachian trail averaged 17 miles a day. During the next two days, the hiker traveled 13 and 19 miles. the trail is a little more than 2174 miles long. About how much farther does the hiker have to travel?

OpenStudy (ghostgate):

First you would multiply 17 by 5 to get 85, next you would add 13 and 19 which gets you 117. So you would have about 2,057 miles left or 2,000 estimated.
