OpenStudy (yumeybitaa):

How can I construct the letter Y using parallel and perpendicular lines with a compass and a straightedge ? Please explain

Directrix (directrix):

Style your "Y" as shown on the attachment. Strictly parallels and perpendiculars. @Yumeybitaa

OpenStudy (yumeybitaa):

Thanks but i need someone to show me ow to construct the letter Y with a compass and a straightedge and only using parallel and perpendicular lines

Directrix (directrix):

I understand that from the posted question. But, to do the construction, I thought it would be good to have in mind an image of a "y" that could be constructed from parallels and perpendiculars. That is why I posted the image. That said, the next item is to ask if you know how to construct two parallel lines and two perpendicular lines in general. @Yumeybitaa

OpenStudy (yumeybitaa):

yes i do know how to construct two parallel lines and two perpendicular lines

OpenStudy (yumeybitaa):

@Directrix
