Which pair of sentences can be combined using a conjunction? A. Read this book. What's on TV tonight? B. We have to pack for our trip. Don't trip on the stairs! C. Mother can't wait for the peonies to bloom. She works in the city. D. Alison meant to call home before she left the party. She forgot.

@Nnesha

OpenStudy (hugsnotughs):

Think about it. Which one of these can become one sentence?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ummm

OpenStudy (hugsnotughs):

Let me cross out the two obvious incorrect ones. A is talking about two different things, therefore it can't be made into one sentence. B is also incorrect because it is talking about two different things. Now look at C and D. Can they be joined by a conjunction? (and, but, if, etc...)

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

Hint: Conjunctions are: and, but, or, so To which of the sentences can you change the period to a conjunction and a comma, and have it as a valid sentence?

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

There are more conjunctions btw.

OpenStudy (hugsnotughs):

I have to go for now, but I'm sure @camerondoherty can help if you have further questions. Hope you get an A. (。^_・)ノ

Thx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

Well lets see Mother can't wait for the peonies to bloom. She works in the city. Lets add a conjunction Mother can't wait for the peonies to bloom and she works in the city. Hmm, Instead of being a sentence it seems like a run-on. Try again c:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think D cuase you can take that and add a and

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

Let's try it out! Alison meant to call home before she left the party but she forgot. And it is.... Correct! Great Job! c:
