TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

We should be able to open up multiple questions in OS Feedback from a laptop and not only from the app. (The app allows you to make multiple questions in every subject. But that should be changed to only the OS Feedback section)

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

I was thinking about this because I had multiple suggestions for OS but i can only have 1 post at a time since I don't have the app. Like right now I had a few suggestions for OS features and like 2 posts for title suggestions.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

And since I know this can be abused! I have thought of a solution! Everyone can have one post open at a time. But if you want to open up a second question then the question has o first get approval of the mods before the question would get posted.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

And if no mod is on, then the user can wait until a mod is on and approves of the 2nd question to be posted.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Here was the other same post: http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/54b0843ae4b0981c990addf7 But you won't see anything in it. lol

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

So now the question is: What do you guys think about it? Should we do this? Do you see any pros or cons in this?

OpenStudy (greencat):

Now am I allowed to speak?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Yes.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

There should be a limit. And whoever spams will have their limit reduced.

OpenStudy (greencat):

As I was saying earlier, it would be helpful, like in my case.

mathslover (mathslover):

Hmm! Not a bad idea. I agree that multiple questions should be allowed only for OS Feedback group, from the laptop as well as from the app! As far as the other groups are concerned, I don't think that a user can engage himself in two doubts at a same time! It will be better if asker concentrates on only single doubt unless and until it is solved. Once it is solved, he can close it and make another post. But, OS Feedback is a different thing and in general, Feedback discussion groups, almost on all sites, have the facility for the users to post multiple questions at a time. And, if a user floods the feedback group with lots of questions at a same time, then we already have a simple idea for that... Make the time period between two consecutive open questions minimum to 15-30 minutes? This shall do 50% of the work. As far as the rest 50% chances of abusing/offending/trolling/spamming is concerned, moderators have enough tools to close a question or delete one. But, it is a good thing that with great efforts of our dearest moderators, spamming has decreased a lot as compared to 5-6 months back. So, in all, this is a good idea, though, I didn't like the solution that much. As I don't think that mods will be free enough to approve each and every users' questions. This will make their work get much complex.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Hmm. That does sound like a great idea. Make a time limit after one question is posted. Spammers would get upset with having to upload a question every 30 minutes. And the user who does have a suggestion can wait for 30 minutes.. Thanks a lot for your awesome and wonderful reply! @mathslover

mathslover (mathslover):

You got the point @TheSmartOne ! :) And you're welcome. :) Thanks to you, for putting the idea up on OpenStudy. Seeking forward for your next two ideas. :)

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

The limit should be a: 1) A time limit. The user will not be able to open a specific number of questions in a specific number of minutes. 2) A limit on the number of questions opened. The user will only be able to hav a specific number of questions open at the same time.

mathslover (mathslover):

That's right confluxe. Limiting max. no. of questions as well as the time duration between the two consecutive open questions is important!

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

:) Great ideas everyone! Keep it up! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow great idea there :)

jaynator495 (jaynator495):

actually i need this to be done for me in latex... i cant name how many occasions i wanted to post a question but couldnt because off my tutorial :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe that this is a two way street. could be better for OS or could cause too many open questions and an invitation to spammers.

jaynator495 (jaynator495):

thats why i think it should be a permision granted to certain useres by mods :> or if someone is trusted and has a good reason give them permision :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good idea!

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

I actually said for only OS feedback.. But for tutorials Jaynator they should make it different than a question asked.

OpenStudy (poopsiedoodle):

I haven't been able to post any questions from the app at all ._.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Hmmm. @Abhisar @e.mccormick @iambatman For their thoughts on this :)

Nnesha (nnesha):

1 post at a time is good for every section i thing the better way to solve this problem make subtopics for feedback section like math section

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

^ Hmm. True but then I still won't be able to have 2 suggestions post at a time..

Nnesha (nnesha):

think**

Nnesha (nnesha):

then make 3 subtopics :P

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

But I have like 5 ideas then what?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

What if I have 10 ideas?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

But there can be a limit of maybe like 5-10 posts.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

True @Nnesha but then that post will probably be only talking about one idea then.

Nnesha (nnesha):

then wait for the next turn btw why chu have sooo many ideas ^,^
