First you should make the connection with the previous sentence, and find keywords. The one key word I found was sly, having or showing a cunning and deceitful nature. So then use this to connect the two sentences. The other 3 options have nothing to do with being sneaky or being deceitful so yes I agree that A would be the answer. :)
