Yes i agree its either C or D. It can't be that she resents her son because it talks about how much she hates the neighbors as well. If i had to choose one it would be that she is critical and detached. If she doesn't like the neighbors then she must either not know them or is just assuming this by there actions and ways of life. So she is not only detached from them she is also criticizing them. He is critical when her son doesn't do his chores correctly. Hope it helped. :)
