the question asks to find value of x and Y
OpenStudy (anonymous):
well what's the degree's of a straight line?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
180?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ya so 180-100 would be x
OpenStudy (anonymous):
how did you find that?

OpenStudy (bibby):
the 2 angles are supplementary
OpenStudy (anonymous):
x+100 =180 because its a straight line
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh wait! Its not 100 its 110! sorry !!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and if x=80 then so does the angle opposite x because they are the same. so 80+80=160 and a full triangle is what degree?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh ok. so then it would be x=70. so then two angles of the triangle = 70(2)

Ohhh ok got it! I see how this kind of problem work now!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
good :) glad I could help
OpenStudy (bibby):
not necessarily.
all the angles of a triangle add up to 180
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes we know that bibby. so x=70, means y= 40
OpenStudy (bibby):
you said something about 70(2)

70 times 2 is both top angles. Then you just have to find what y is
OpenStudy (anonymous):
because both top angles are 70, (140 all together) which means 180 (the whole triangle) - 140 = 40
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes makes sense
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i'm glad :)
