What kind of complement is the underlined word? The sausages smelled delicious after Mom added seasoning to them A. direct object B. predicate adjective C. indirect object D. predicate nominative underlined word delicious will give medal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, a direct object is a noun or pronoun that receives the action of a verb or shows the result of the action. A predicate adjective modifies the subject of the sentence. An indirect object precedes the direct object and tells to whom or for whom the action of the verb is done and who is receiving the direct object. And a predicate nominative is the noun following a linking verb that restates or stands for the subject. So from that, work out which ones you think wouldn't seem logical for the answer...such as answer A. :)
