The app could use some updating but like @TheSmartOne  said there is really no use becasue you can tag people in it. Also i think they did ot add that feature because they ont want i o be some sort of texting app or communicating social mdia app as in facebook. However it takes a long process for them to get the app updated and right now the app still has some glitches and still need to be thought of. So if we even could add the feature it will be a long time from now bcasue there are other tings that need to be fixed.
