Cross multiply and solve.. many terms will be cancelled... then shift remaining terms on one side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hey @shirleyx Do you know how to cross multiply?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when can i cross multiply to solve ? when i have fractions on both sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, there's always a fraction on both sides...For example, even if you have 5=(4+1)..it can be written as 5/1=(4+1)/1 right? so there's the fraction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, so the answer is -ay/b? thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to solve for b or x?? if x den correct otherwise instead of b x will come..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yes it was x sorry!
