How do I find ratio? I have some tests coming up and I need help please?

OpenStudy (aaronandyson):

question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats my question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do I find ratio? I get confused :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Example: If you have 5 blue shirts, and 3 red shirts, the ratio of blue shirts to red shirts is 5:3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What if a question says "If you have 5 blue shirt what is ratio of the blue shirts and all shirts?"

OpenStudy (ganpat):

So all shirts are 5 + 3 = 8 so blue/all = 5/8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what? :/ why do we divide?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i like how @AnswerMyQuestions get mad at meh for tellin answers when someone over her is GVING answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (ganpat):

because we need a ratio.. and ratio is always something upon something !! i mean simplest was of explaining :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My question is how to find ratio...would you like me cheat and bring up my ratio test questions? o_o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or would you like to explain how to find it so I can do the test myself? o_o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-_- Great. No answers. Thanks a lot, I am closing

OpenStudy (ganpat):

say you are eating a Pizza.. Pizza is cut into 6 equal pieces and you have two friends along with you. so how many pieces will you get ? 6 pieces/ 3 friends = 2 pieces.. pizza is circular i.e. 360 degree.. so at what angle each piece is cut = 360/ 6 = 60 degree.. and so many applications of ratio...

OpenStudy (ganpat):

sorry ! :(
