congruent means, the same
triangle ABD is congruent to triangle CBD
The little tick mark on AB and BC means they are the same length AB = BC
They both share the same side BD and both have a right angle ABD and CBD
so they both have in order-- side-angle-side pats that are equal

If you wanted to use the longer diagonals, you could prove those are also equal by the pythagorean theorem, AD = CD if you wanted to
