A jar contains 7 blue marbles, 12 red marbles, and 4 green marbles. What is the ratio of red marbles to the total number of marbles in the jar?
@sleepyjess can you help me with ratios
Red marbles:blue+green marbles

thank you
Does what I posted make sense to you?
yes
Ok, so what do you come up with?
i meant no sorry i thought you were talking about the welcome to openstudy
Oh, well, do you know what a ratio is?
yes kind of im not good with math
are you still there
mk, well a ratio is kinda like a fraction. It is stating that there is so much of one thing to so much of another thing. For example, Max has 4 blue crayons to every 3 red crayons. The ratio, blue to red, would be 4:3
ok
So, we need the ratio red to blue and green.
ok
So, if there are 12 red marbles, how many blue and green marbles are there total?
11
Yes! So the ratio is 12:11
could you help me with more
Sure, just make sure you close this question and open up a new one :)
right now
Yep, then tag me just like you did here ^_^
ok
