Where did Christianity come from? Who was the first person (if known) to spread the word of the Christian God? Was it Jesus? Moses? I just want to get a general idea of where this religion came from...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, first we have to take it as, GOD did not want a religion, but a relationship with HIS creation, that's why it says that GOD walked in the garden of Eden. Being a Christian means being a follower of Christ, and when we desire to follow Him we enter into a relationship. By our sin we were separated from GOD, but GOD became a Man to break down the wall of sin to enter into a relationship. SO Christianity began when Jesus died on that cross. If you desire a religion, go to church, but if you want a relationship, then come to Jesus! John 10:27: My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow Me.

Well that doesn't answer my question in the slightest but thanks for trying?

Amen! @JoshuaKNM @MathHater82 if you read it carefully, yes it does. Christianity is not a religion. It is a relationship with Jesus Christ. Religion is agitating. I do not like the word. Wanna know what religion is? It is when a group of people decided that they like some parts of the bible (Gods word) and don't like other parts. So they kept the part they liked and added parts they thought of (made up) to better convince them. That's how religion is formed. Then another group of people will do the same thing with the new 'religion' and create another religion. Follow? The Christian God? He is THE God. If you really want to understand, you need to pick up a bible and start at the beginning. Try a study bible. That might be better. All the answers to which you are seeking are between the covers. Have a great day! God Bless!

The (4 versions of the) same story about Jesus written about 200 years later.... wonder how they even knew anything that happened? But you tell me "Gospels" ....

Thanks @SolomonZelman for actually answering my question and not telling me I misused the word religion.
