What is the slope of a line perpendicular to the line with equation y = 4x + 5? A. –4 B. –5 C. 4 D. -1/4

D?

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

yep :) The gradient of that equation would be 4 And since it tells you the two lines are perpendicular 4 multiplied by the gradient of your perpendicular line would give you -1 So your slope would be -1/4
