Binomial theorem :)

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

I have finished using the binomial theorem to expand \((s+3v)^5\), but I need to make sure it is correct :) Is it \(s^5+15s^4v+90s^3v^2+270s^2v^3+405sv^4+243v^5\)

OpenStudy (freckles):

|dw:1421178519376:dw|

OpenStudy (freckles):

\[(s+y)^5=s^5+5s^4y+10s^3y^2+10s^2y^3+5sy^4+y^5\] replace y with (3v)

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

Yes, I did that :)

OpenStudy (freckles):

so first term is right second term is right third term is right 4th looks good and checking last two terms

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

That is pascal's triangle, isn't it?

OpenStudy (freckles):

3^5 can't do that one in my head :p

OpenStudy (freckles):

yeah

OpenStudy (freckles):

yeah all terms look delicious

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

Okay, great! Thank you!

OpenStudy (freckles):

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

Okay...thanks again!
