4x and the 3x-8 sum to 90
\[\angle CDJ = 3x-8\] and \[\angle ADC = 4x\] complete one quadrant. They are complementary, meaning that they sum to 90 degrees. That is \[\angle CDJ + \angle ADC = 90 \] We can then solve for x: \[3x - 8 + 4x = 90\]
so the answer is 90
