WILL MEDAL AND FAN YOU !!! Tom's Candy Store has both income and expenses each month. These are shown in the graph below. Which set of equations represents the number of months and the monthly income and expenses? Let M = the number of months. Let D = the monthly dollar amount. A. Income: M = 1,000D Expenses: M = 4,500D + 500 B. Income: M = 1,000D Expenses: M = 500D + 4,500 C. Income: D = 1,000M Expenses: D = 500M + 1,500 D. Income: D = 1,000M Expenses: D = 500M + 4,500

Sorry I was late getting here. The site is malfunctioning. When you want to get someone's attention, use the @ key and follow it with the person's name. Like this: @hrttryhtrhrjh

its ok lol

Directrix (directrix):

Where do the red and blue lines intersect on the graph? Will you post the coordinates of that point?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x- 9 & Y- 9,000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think i did that correctly

Directrix (directrix):

Yes, you did. On the Income, 9 months and 9000 dollars means that the Income is 1000 times the number of months. I am having trouble with the assignment of variables. Would that be I = 1000*D or would it be I = 1000* M ? What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1000*M ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, wait . 1000*D.

Directrix (directrix):

I have D = 1000 * M for Income but now am confused about Income being a separate variable. M* You'd think that Income = M*D period. But, then there is this 1,000

Directrix (directrix):

In expenses, we will face the same issue. There is a 500 and a 4500. The 500 is multiplied by a variable but I don't know if it is M or D.

Directrix (directrix):

I think I'll graph the options and see which one looks like the given graph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok take your time

Directrix (directrix):

Do you see any option that looks like this: Income: D = 1000*M Expenses: D = 500*M + 4500

Directrix (directrix):

Those are the equations of the lines.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes ! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that would be the answer ?

Directrix (directrix):

I think so BUT if you enter that as the answer and it is wrong, do you get a second chance?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no ..

Directrix (directrix):

Does this look like the graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

Directrix (directrix):

It looks the same to me. To the best of my knowledge, I think those answers we got are correct. So, enter them and let me know the verdict. Okay?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes they were all correct ! THANK YOU SO MUCH ! (:

Directrix (directrix):

I am happy about that. You are welcome.

Directrix (directrix):

Any more questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no thats it (: thank you so much it means alot.

Directrix (directrix):

It looks as if this was your first day here. So, welcome.
