Which of the following equations is of a parabola with a vertex at (1, -1)? y = (x - 1)^2 - 1 y = (x - 1)^2 + 1 y = (x + 1)^2 - 1 y = (x + 1)^2 + 1

How you tell is that the x coordinate comes after the x in the equation with a switched sign. So it's either A or B. Then the y coordinate is on the end with a normal sign, so you're left with A. Hope that helps! :)
