For Algebra II We're learning about solving roots using synthetic division. Currently I am stuck on one problem which is x^3-4x^2-36x-48=0 My teacher suggested for these problems to "guess and check" by using the last term and the first, but I don't really understand the concept when the ending term is larger. Please help! :) Thanks.

I'm actually not sure how to find which roots, but I normally like to start with 1 and -1 first

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

Give me a sec and I will let you know what they are :)

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

-2 is one :)

Alrighty thank you so much! I think I can go from there.

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

Yep :)
