OpenStudy (sparklestaraa):

What is the average rate of change of d(t) between 2 seconds and 4 seconds, and what does it represent?

OpenStudy (sparklestaraa):

@dtan5457

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

You can just use the slope formula which is y2-y1/x2-x1 your points would be (2,60) and (4,240)

OpenStudy (wilder.monday):

this is asking for rate of change (the slope). to find the slope use the equation, y2-y1/x2-x1. x1 is 2 y1 is 60. y2 is 240 and x2 is 4.

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Got it? @Sparklestaraa

OpenStudy (sparklestaraa):

im a little confused still @dtan5457

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

(420-60)/(4-2)

OpenStudy (sparklestaraa):

350/2 = 175

OpenStudy (sparklestaraa):

@dtan5457

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

sorry (240-60)/(4-2)

OpenStudy (sparklestaraa):

90 @dtan5457

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

yes, now does that represent distance or speed?

OpenStudy (sparklestaraa):

speed?
