Please help! Will fan and medal <3 Which structural characteristic is found in prokaryotic cells, but not eukaryotic cells? A. lysosomes B. cell wall C. cilia D. a nucleoid

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Welcome to OpenStudy :-) What do you think it should be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure... :o I'm thinking... maybe the cillia?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Nopes, prokaryotes don't have a nucleus but have an another structure called as nucleoid which contains there genetic material. It's not bound by any membrane.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah...!! So... maybe lysosomes?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

No No, what i was trying to say that nucleoid is the structure which is present in prokaryotes. Eukaryotes don't have nucleoid but have nucleus at its place. Getting it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh!! :D Thank you, so much.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Welcome ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not really a structure so much as an area. The chromosome tends to stay in the center of the cell.
