Which of the following points are solutions to the system of inequalities shown below? Check all that apply. y>5x - 2 y<5x + 3 A. (4, 23) B. (4, 20) C. (-5, 25) D. (5, 28) Are, A,B,C,D all right? or should there be just 2. and if so which 2. kinda in a scramble and need the answer quickly.

draw that and get the intersection area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5x+3>y>5x-2. solve it

Since the numbers are so big you technically dont even need to draw it. You can plug in the values for each and if it's true, then that's a solutions. I'll do the first ordered pair: 23>5(4)-2 23>20-2 23>18 ^That's true because 23 is greater than 18. Do the second equation to make sure.. 23<5(4)+3 23<23 ^That's not true because 23=23. So the first ordered pair (4,23) is not a solution. Do that for the other 3, I hope that helps!

ok thanks!!

No prob :)

Ok I have a question so the next problem says this: Which of the following points are solutions to the system of inequalities shown below? Check all that apply. y > 6x + 5 y < -6x + 7 A. (2, 17) B. (8, 8) C. (-2, 18) D. (0, 6) E. (-2, 19) F. (2, 18) F was the only one that works with both equations so would that be the right answer? I have this question and 2 more q's on this test and i have to get em right... @bruhhh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

F doesn't work for me? 18>6(2)+5 18>17, so thats true. but for the second.. 18<-6(2)+7 18<-5, which isn't true.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry the page keeps crashing -.- D is the only one that works for me :) Make sure you check your answers & remember a negative times a negative is positive.

No problem!! And thanks. :D
