i. Updates
ii. Traffic influxes

If OS is lagging then refresh your page. It should be fixed for a while but if it hapens again then just simply re-refresh.
I know your next question will be: Why don't they change their servers then?

Well you see OpenStudy has a small budget and they don't make a lot of money by selling subscriptions or dedications 2 spots for ads. So they are rolling out OwlBucks and Qualified Helpers soon! With that they should be able to make money and solve a lot of problems on OS!
