myininaya (myininaya):

if all of B's elements are in A, then B is a subset of A. if all of A's elements are in B, then A is a subset of B. --- Example: A={1,2,3,4,5,6} and B={1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9} A is a subset of B because all of A's elements are in B. B is not a subset of A because all of B's elements are not in A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be the first answer?

myininaya (myininaya):

If you are saying A is a subset of B then you are saying all of A's elements are in B? Are all of A's elements in B?

myininaya (myininaya):

A={a,b,c} and B={c,a} is a,b,c in the set B}

myininaya (myininaya):

Because that is what you are saying you are saying a,b, and c are in B

myininaya (myininaya):

But that can't be true since b is not in B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it's the second answer?

myininaya (myininaya):

yes all have B's elements are in A
