Is the function linear or nonlinear? x −2 0 1 3 4 y 4 8 10 14 16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

non linear

OpenStudy (ajspeller):

Linear functions have a constant slope. Apply the slope formula to several order pairs and if they are the same then its linear.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ajspeller she may not know what you are talking about pls dont make it difficult not tryign to be mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dude!

OpenStudy (ajspeller):

@osubuckeyessoccer your suggestion has been noted. I type in what I like and you just keep giving out answers.

OpenStudy (tukitw):

... Why non linear

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because each of the x and y is not the same on top and bottom.

OpenStudy (tukitw):

Don't understand...

OpenStudy (tukitw):

I'm pretty sure you will get a straight line/linear if you plot it though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x −2 0 1 3 4 y 4 8 10 14 16 so the -2 to the 0 is +2 the 0 to the 1 is +1 so they arent the same which equal non linear.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand what he is saying @osubuckeyessoccer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if it is still hard look it up on youtube thats where i get my questions answered

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i was just saying the easier way i tried to help but got it in the wrong way geesh

OpenStudy (ajspeller):

Wow! Thanks for the tip @osubuckeyessoccer lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay Thank You @osubuckeyessoccer & @ajspeller
