The directions for the Geometry Unit 6 Portfolio are below. Read these directions carefully to

1. Watch the “Geometry and Measurement: Coordinate Geometry” Discovery Education™
streaming movie on the uses of the coordinate grid system throughout history. You may
want to take notes while watching the video. The link is provided on the Review page of
this Lesson.
2. Complete a one page summary of the information provided in the video. Your summary
should include information on the coordinate system used in navigation, archaeology,
and space.
3. Describe a real-world application in which the coordinate grid system is used. Include a
simple example specific to your application and a diagram if appropriate. You can use an
idea from the movie or search the Internet. If you do get your idea from the movie or
Internet, please cite your source.
