Explain the difference between the questions ¿Cómo está Raúl? and ¿Cómo es Raúl?

Como 'esta' Raul?=How 'is' Raul? Como 'es' Raul?=How 'is' Raul? You realize they both have "is", however, its two forms of "is". The first one means, how is Raul doing, meaning feelings. Ex. He's good, bad, alright, etc. The second one means, how is Raul, meaning features. Ex. He's smart, funny, mean, etc.
