Which sentence is best categorized as an analogy?
The look she gave her husband was as frigid as a winter wind. He answered the questionnaire like a monkey with a typewriter. The words her friend spoke to her were as sweet as honey. The old man who walked into the room looked as tough as old boots.
http://literarydevices.net/analogy/ I'd say the second one but you should use the link to double-check.
Ugh none of them sound like analogies to me
Lol, did you click the link? I say the second one because it's comparing two almost unrelated situations, but my idea of an analogy might be skewed ^^;
Example from the site: “Structure of an atom is like a solar system. Nucleus is the sun and electrons are the planets revolving around their sun.” This is an analogy because the structure of an atom and the solar system are not quite closely related.
Well I always learned that analogies were like "Cold is to winter as hot is to summer" Or Break is to fix as night is to day"
OH GOOD GRIEF OS STOP BLOCKING QUOTATION MARKS. =_= "Just as a sword is the weapon of a warrior, a pen is the weapon of a writer." It is, but that's the basic version for dummies that we learn as kids xD
I do not like the grownup version of analogies
Aha xD
So are you still lost ? :p
Ah, never mind. = u=
No I'm good thanks!
