Only mods can close questions. Ambassadors cannot.
Asking for power makes them (the administrators) more reluctant to give it.
If you keep up the great work, I'm sure they will notice and one day offer you that opportunity. :)

on a more personal note... This is why everyone has the report ability.  That way if they see a message thatviolates the rules they can report it so that a mod can close/delete it.

And once people got powers to close questions, next they would start asking for powers to delete questions.
