please set x=-1 and y=-8 into your equation, what did you get?
-8= -1\[-1^{2}\]+3x-6
-8=\[^{-1^{2}}\]+3x-6
how do i deteremine if its equal?
if -8=-8 it is a solution

when you set x=-1 and y=-8, into your equation, you get this: left side=-8 right side=1-3-6=-8 since left side=right side, your values are the solution
