OpenStudy (juana02):

can you help me with the solution steps?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure all u do is plug ur numbers into the equation and see if it is correct or wrong

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

please set x=-1 and y=-8 into your equation, what did you get?

OpenStudy (juana02):

-8= -1\[-1^{2}\]+3x-6

OpenStudy (juana02):

-8=\[^{-1^{2}}\]+3x-6

OpenStudy (juana02):

how do i deteremine if its equal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if -8=-8 it is a solution

OpenStudy (juana02):

ok i solve it is that how u determine if its not equal?

OpenStudy (juana02):

@Michele_Laino

OpenStudy (juana02):

thanks

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

when you set x=-1 and y=-8, into your equation, you get this: left side=-8 right side=1-3-6=-8 since left side=right side, your values are the solution
