honestly I don't know that's why I want someone to work this through with me so I can learn. Geometry is not my best subject atm and I don't want to guess.

ok... you need to use difference triangles to find 1. BD... use triangle ABC and triangle ADE the ratio of the corresponding sides is \[\frac{AC}{AE} = \frac{AB}{AD}\] so numerically \[\frac{30}{12} = \frac{AB}{6}\] so AB = 15 and AB = BD + DA BD = 15 - 6 or BD = 9 now for side BF using triangles ABC and EFC the ratio of the sides is \[\frac{AC}{EC} = \frac{BC}{FC} \] numerically \[\frac{30}{18} = \frac{BC}{24}\] so BC = 40 and BC = BF + FC or 40 = BF + 24 so now you have BF and BD so you can choose the correct answer
