"Winter"

In this winter, long cold night,
which still has the whiteness of a little light.
Why is everything so unalive,
though i watch them so wakefull?

On the trees, not a leaf of green,
in the sky, no blue to be seen.
Howcome none of them says a word,
though i sit so waitfull?

What if my mind stopped its try,
and i took the covering off my eye.
Why don't i just let the cold breeze
stroke my head so peaceful?

In this night, the clouds made a blanket white,
and the sun has warmed it a little bright.
All have left their waking state,
to go inside so peaceful.

The trees have dropped their green ornaments,
and offered them down as their mother's adornments,
They've turned then to gold to cover their mother,
offering ever so willful.

The trees under their blanket are going to sleep.
And everything is silanced, even the mouse's sqeek.
Why don't i also go into silance,
and sleep along with these trees?

The birds are singing a quiet lullaby,
to the tranparent world that is saying good bye.
Why don't i also say good bye,
and sleep along with these trees?

In their sleep, are the trees dreaming?
What is there in their dreaming?
Maybe they're just waiting to awake
to the loud, laughter of spring.
