HELP!! A rectangle picture is 4 cm longer than it is wide. It is surrounded by a mat that is 2 cm wide. The combined area of the picture and the mat is 140 square cm. Find the dimensions of the picture.

(w+8)(w+4)=140 Foil it out w^2+4w+8w+32=140 w^2+12w-108=0 So (w-6)(w+18)=0 Solve for (w-6)=0 w=6 and Solve for (w+18)=0, w=-18 width can not be negative W=6 L=10
