I need help solving this problem. I have the answer but my teacher won't accept it because she says I'm not getting it in the correct way. I'm not sure what that means if I'm still getting the right answer but I need to know the steps to get the answer. The question is: What are the solutions of 3c2 + 56 = -136? I know the answer is +/- 8i but what are the correct steps to get it?
so that is \[3C^2\] ?
yes thats it
What are the steps that you used to find the correct answer.
The easiest way I see is to subtract 56 from both sides divide both sides by 3 and then take square root of both sides
maybe she wants you to set it up to zero first and then subtract 64 from both sides. And then take the square root of both sides.
Thats what I did originally. I will try it by subtracting 56 first then divide by 3. Thank you
