Which colonial area or areas placed a high value on religious freedom? Middle and Southern New England and Middle New England only Southern and New England Question Information: A higher calling. The Puritans and Pilgrims crossed the Atlantic Ocean in search of religious freedom. They found it in New England. In addition, the diverse group of settlers in the Middle colonies also practiced many different religions freely.
