3z-1/5=-8

OpenStudy (kamibug):

\(\huge\cal\color{indigo}{Welcome~to~Openstudy!~:)}\) Is this your equation? \[3z - \frac{ 1 }{ 5 } = -8\]

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

3z-1/5= -8 Step 1: Add 1/5 to both sides to isolate z. 3z-1/5+1/5= -8+1/5 3z= -7 4/5 or -39/5, if you prefer decimals it would be -7.8 Step 2: Divide both sides by 3. 3z/3= -7.8/ 3 z= -2.6
