OpenStudy (jessiegonzales):

MEDAL!!! TAN ___=12 I use the calculator and get -0.6 But these are the choices A.85.24 B.87.61 C.0.12 D.0.98

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

if you have a calculator then its tan(x) = 12 then \[x = \tan^{-1}(12)\]

OpenStudy (jessiegonzales):

A

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you can also check each answer choice example, pick choice D at random tan(_____) = 12 tan(0.98) = 12 ... fill in the blank with the number for choice D 0.0171 = 12 ... this is false, so choice D is out

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

make sure you are in degree mode

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nice thing about wolfram is it gives answers in degrees and radians so you don't have to worry about your calculator

OpenStudy (jessiegonzales):

got it @jim_thompson5910 @satellite73
