you can also check each answer choice

example, pick choice D at random

tan(_____) = 12

tan(0.98) = 12 ... fill in the blank with the number for choice D

0.0171 = 12 ... this is false, so choice D is out

nice thing about wolfram is it gives answers in degrees and radians so you don't have to worry about your calculator
