Hi I'm new to openstudy how can I chat with new people to make friends?

you can just press the little envelope on the left hand corner and press "+write a new message" and they can reply back to you and so on

You can hover over anyone's name and click fan xD and message. Then you can to chat with people at the bottom of OpenStudy!

There is a small button in the left hand corner that looks like the yin and yang symbol. Click the mathematics button to open the mathematics chatbox. It is the OS chatrooms. Have fun.

Just remember that the question areas are for on topic homework questions and tutoring. So if you want to ask about math, for example, use Find More Subjects to get math added to your list and then you can ask about math there. Also, the math chat is pretty popular for random chat. The chat will show up on the chat pod bar on the bottom after you start studying math.
